We are the official destination stewardship organization for Western Montana—a nonprofit dedicated to supporting sustainable economic vitality while protecting what makes this region extraordinary. Our mission is to promote responsible tourism that enhances the well-being of our communities and preserves the character and beauty of our wild and welcoming landscapes.
Glacier Country works in partnership with 27 destination organizations across Montana and the Montana Department of Commerce, all funded in part by the state lodging tax, as well as by private contributions from businesses and organizations who share our vision. We represent eight counties—Flathead, Glacier, Lake, Lincoln, Mineral, Missoula, Ravalli and Sanders—and serve as a resource and advocate for the region’s tourism partners.
At the heart of our work is a commitment to balance. We champion thoughtful travel experiences that benefit both residents and visitors, cultivating deep respect for the people, cultures and natural places that define Western Montana. Through collaboration, education and leadership, we help shape a tourism economy that supports local livelihoods while safeguarding the land, water and way of life that future generations will depend on.
