As we look forward to 2024, Western Montana's Glacier Country is embarking on a pivotal journey. In October 2022, we completed a significant milestone: the development of a community-driven Destination Stewardship Plan to help balance increased visitation with the long-term health and vibrancy of Western Montana’s communities, natural resources and quality of life for residents. This plan, adopted by our board of directors, integrates seamlessly into our operating strategy and aims to balance vital economic needs and a livable and sustainable destination.
After holding town halls and listening sessions throughout the eight counties of Western Montana in 2021, we are excited to announce that starting in January, we plan to initiate a series of community town hall meetings across Flathead, Glacier, Lake, Lincoln, Mineral, Missoula, Ravalli and Sanders counties. The purpose of the meetings is to discuss the Glacier Country Destination Stewardship Plan and to gather resident input on challenges, opportunities and strategies for the community regarding visitors and tourism. These town hall meetings are not just a chance to listen but an opportunity to be heard. Your insights, experiences and suggestions are invaluable to us.
We look forward to your participation in these town hall meetings. Let's shape a future for Western Montana that reflects our shared goals and aspirations.
