The Communications Program develops, manages and monitors our publicity and earned media projects and campaigns. The impact of our communications program is firmly rooted in promoting responsible recreation and sustainable practices. Every year, our publicity efforts result in a strong performance with travel writers, travel bloggers and digital influencers who help share our messaging, including highlighting lesser-known areas, off-season travel and responsible recreation.
Travel media relations efforts are focused on sharing information about Western Montana and regional stakeholders by promoting key messages and experiences to travel writers, travel bloggers, tv and film producers/crews, social media content creators and others.
Media engagement tools include:
Regional media relations include communicating with local, regional and state media about timely and news-relevant issues surrounding Western Montana’s Glacier Country and the tourism industry. Outreach includes issuing press releases and responding to journalist inquiries.
We also maintain a dedicated Pressroom microsite featuring media kits, editorial story ideas, facts and figures, and high-res imagery to help journalists uncover the unique stories of Western Montana and Glacier National Park.
Our crisis communications strategy is both proactive and responsive, ensuring we’re ready to share a clear, concise and accurate message with our visitors.
Our crisis plan includes:
