Western Montana’s Glacier Country provides guidance and resources to help communities and organizations secure funding for projects that align with regional stewardship and sustainability goals.

Grant Opportunities

  • Direct Support: Offer access to grants we provide for projects promoting responsible tourism and community enhancement 
  • Grant Sourcing Assistance: Help identify external funding opportunities through platforms like:
    • GrantWatch: Comprehensive database of available grants 
    • Montana Grants Portal: State-specific funding opportunities for community projects 
    • Engage Glacier site 
  • Visitor Information Center (VIC) Grant: The Western Montana's Glacier Country Visitor Information Center (VIC) staffing assistance program's intention is to aid not-for-profit chambers of commerce, economic development corporations/authorities, tourism improvement districts, tribal governments and visitor information centers in need of financial support to supplement qualified visitor information center programs with paid and/or volunteer staff positions to operate their visitor information centers.

Western Montana’s Glacier Country Funding Program Opportunities 

  • Community Event Marketing Assistance Program: The Community Event Marketing Assistance Program, offered through Western Montana's Glacier Country, assists communities within the Glacier Country region to promote out-of-area attendance and increase nonresident visitor commerce and community revenue. 
  • Cooperative Marketing Match Program: Western Montana's Glacier Country Cooperative Marketing Project Match Program (CMPMP) is designed to provide 50/50 matching expense funding for projects to promote an area or event on a cooperative basis with a not‐for‐profit tourism‐related organization. The intent of this program is to encourage the development of new or expanded marketing projects, thereby increasing the tourism appeal of the city or region to out-of-area visitors.
